1989 gmc jimmy 4.3 motor?

i have a 1989 gmc jimmy and i would like to put a 1993 4.3 vortec motor in it would i have to get a new wireing harness for the 93 motor

It is possible to swap this out. You will need a wiring harness for the engine as well as the ECM, since you are going from a throttle-body unit to a vortec unit.
