Have a 1990 Jimmy with 4.3ltr. When temps get below 60 degrees or so the fuel pump relay will cycle on and off- about 4-6 times per second. It will do this for a few seconds, sometimes for a few minutes, or intermittently. Has done this for a few years without any problems so I didn't worry about it. Lately though while idleing the engine will start to cut out and die, then surge. Sometimes if idleing while stopped in traffic the engine will die. But starts right up again. I have searched for a solution for this but can't find anything. Could it just be the relay is bad? Or a bad ECM? Fuel pressure regulator? Any help would be appreciated.
