I've looked all over and don't see anything that applied to me.
Situation: I bought a 92 Jimmy (4.3l, CPI, 4x4, SLT). From a guy in florida. He claims that it used to run fine, but his wife got sick and the truck just sat.
I got it home and the thing will turn over and wont start. When I put gas down the throttle body, the engine fires right up.
It will only fun for as long as the gas that I poured in the throttle body burns for, then it quits.
Fuel: I dropped the tank, got rid of the old gas and replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, replaced the spider, nut and bolt kit. I am getting voltage to the wiring harness at the fuel injector on the spider. I've checked the fuel pump relay's and they are coming on for prime and on for start. There is gas to the shradder, but I don't know what the psi is.
Spark: I've replaced battery, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and checked for spark (strong spark), and compression avg is 150 psi.
Air: changed the air filter.
Timing: When I pulled the cap I turned the engine over to TDC and the timing mark on the balancer lined right up. I mark the position of the rotor. I've got the firing order (1,6,5,4,3,2) and double and triple checked the plug wires.
I am getting a serious case of the ass, because this thing should fire.
Any advice that you provide is greatly appreciated.
