1994 gmc jimmy heater core?

may car is running realy bad idles down only at idle just saw a huge thing of water on passenger side floor if my heater core went bad will it cause my car to do this

sounds like two different problems, the heater core will only affect the engine when it drains all the coolant out and you over heat. but since you know its leaking you won't let that happen right? you might want to check the I.A.C. ( idle air control ) valve, real easy fix this will cause a car to idle fast, slow or even idle up and down....good luck.

heater core wwould not cause this problem unless loosing to much coolant and over heating.
