My suburban lost power driving down the road today. Luckily I was going down a hill and was able to get out of the way. The engine would crank fine, but would not start. I could also slightly turn the key, but I didn't hear the fuel pump work. I replaced the fuel pump relay. I can hear the fuel pump now when I turn the key but it still won't start. All of the other fuses and relays pass the "eye test" but I haven't put a meter to them. I guess I'm looking for possible problems.

I've only had two other issues with the vehicle. It stalled out at a red light once, but started back up. I was pretty low on gas (not empty), and I had heard that these vehicles can be a little funny if they're low on gas. It also will almost die if I hammer the gas to take off.

I was told there was a schrader valve on the fuel line near the engine but I couldn't find it to test the gas pressure.

Any help would be awesome.

Start with the simple and replace your fuel filter. Your TBI is pressure sensitive and mys need to be replaced if it has not been in over 1 year or 15,000 miles.

BTW on the TBI system, there is no shredder valve along the fuel line. Good luck and keep us posted and would not hurt to clean your throttle body also.
