My 1994 Suburban is having an issue with the throttle body. It started bogging at half to full throttle, almost as if it wouldn't get anymore gas at all. I picked up a can of spray carb cleaner and cleaned the outside and sprayed the crap out of the inside while it was running. After this it responded great, but after a week or so it is doing the same things. I am wondering if anyone knows if this is simply the jets are clogged and not being able to deliver adequate fuel?

You have no jets, you have a throttle body fuel injection system. You injectors may be cluged and dirty, start with a can of fuel injector cleaner as mentioned by plein and replace your fuel filter. The other thing to that would casue this is bad fuel pressure regulator and that's loocated at the base of the throttle body. The TBI runs best at about 13PSI to 13.5 PSI, if you can get a hold of a can of seafoam from a auto parts store. That would be great, just follow the instructions and you'll be able to clean out the carbon in the upper intake of the engine. Start with this and check your fuel pressure regulator tomake sure it's not leaking or damaged. Good luck

When I give it throttle and it lags like that I can back the throttle off and it will then begin to accelerate. If I clean up the top end with seafoam and change the fuel filter will this eliminate this problem?

Je crois qu,il y a encore beaucoup de chose dans les injecteurs, faudrais faire nettoyer au garage, le nettoyeur throttle boby et injecteur est plus fort.....

Probablement que vous avez beaucoup de chose dans la tank a essence..

Here are the things you need to address that will cause your engine to bog down when you are on the accelerator.

1. A dirty fuel filter
2. Dirty fuel injector
3. Bad fuel pressure regulator or bad vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator
4. Faulty TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)
5. Faulty EGR valve
6. Faulty MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure)

You can address all if these things or you can do them one by one as to the cost of some of the things as expensive to replace and they may not be faulty. You can start with the simple as to replacing the fuel filter, running fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system, and cleaning the EGR valve with the throttle body and check all your vacuum lines. Once these things have been addressed, then move on to the TPS, MAP and the replacement of the EGR. Good luck and keep me posted, and make sure your fuel pressure is no more then 13.5 PSI or you will have issues like the one your having. :D

Thanks for all the responses everyone! I started today with the seafoam through the brake booster vacuum hose. I noticed right away that there is no clamp on the hose where it connects to the brake booster. It was really tight and hard to get off, but could still be a potential vacuum leak couldn't it? I also noticed it didn't seem to have a massive amount of vacuum pressure, not as much as when I did this on my Durango anyways. I poured some through the throttle body after I let finished with the 20 mins and getting all the freed up carbon out of the motor. I also used some throttle body cleaner and cleaned up the entire throttle body. The truck is more responsive now and kicks down as it should, but is still not going wide open. I will try the fuel filter and cleaning the egr. How do I test the fuel pressure?

You test the fuel pressure at the shredder valve on the fuel line at the throttle body. it looks like a valve with a cap on it like what you see on your tires. But it's on the fuel line and you'll need a fuel pressure gauge. here is a link about GM TBI. http://chevythunder.com/gm_throttle_body_injection_pg_1.htm Hope this helps you understand more about the TBI. keep up the good work and keep me posted. :D

I finally had to opportunity to do some work on the truck. I decided to start with the fuel filter 1st and that solved the problem. I have never in my life had a filter be a problem till now. Gives me all the throttle I want now. I haven't had a chance to really take it out and see how it performs, but I will tonight.

Thanks everyone for all you help! Saved me some money, don't think a mechanic would of let me off for $7.00

Ont sais jamais tant que l,ont a pas trouver, ont pensent toujour que c,est compliquer parfois, bien non, un aussi petit problème t'aurais coûté très cher avec un mécanicien a $70 l'heure...

Bravo a toi!!!.....bonne route
