i have a 95 jimmy 4.3, it is the later 95 so it has the OBD2 port.
The problem im having is the truck seems to want to buck slightly at the 2k rpm range but it will run fine past that but after a bit of driving I will come to a stop and go to pull away and the truck will shut off and not want to start again it will crank and crank but will not start unless allowed to cool down after it cools down it starts right up. It also seems that if I allow it to warm up at idle before driving it doesn't seem to give me as much trouble and seems to run fine and not shut off at all. I have had that happen on 2 separate occasions. but if I get in and start it and not allow it to warm up it seems to not take long for it to act up and stall on me. The other day I drove it to the gas station after thinking I have fixed the problem without allowing the car to get to temp before leaving I made it to the station and almost back home and it shut off on me when I was nearly home it wasn't even a 5 minute drive from the station to my house. and then today I went to leave I did not let the truck warm up very long. drove a few minutes from home and had to turn around got stuck at a light and when I went to pull away from the light the truck shut off and would not start..
The only codes I have pulled from it are a code for TPS sensor and MAP sensor . I replaced the MAP sensor a while ago and that code did not return I replaced TPS last night installed it allowed the truck to run for a while after install and drove it around for at least 20 minutes with no shutting off. cleared the code and it did not come back yet. after today when I went back to pick the truck up where I had left it sit it started right up so I quickly drove it down the street back to my house I did not allow it to warm up but it made it down the street fine but threw a check engine light for p1441 (evaporative emission system flow during non purge) I don't know if that is directly linked to my problem ive never gotten that code before I figure its because I started the truck and pulled away right away while cold just to get it back to my house.
items I have replaced TPS sensor with multiple sensors to troubleshoot, MAP sensor also with multiple units for troubleshooting, ECM and I cleaned the EGR.
Any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance
