1996 Gmc jimmy problems?

I have a truck that will not stay runnng for more then 1 min then it just dies and sum times not want to turn over. the thing is i had a oil cooler line break and it pumped all the oil out of it. i replaced the line and oil etc... i heard that when some thing like that happens on vortec engines it will shut down before it will cause problems is that true? thing is it runs and i am swaping exhaust on it it never acted like how it has been could it be a pluged cat as i have never replace on since ive had the truck it sounds normal when runing just that its seems like it losses power when the engine starts to warm up
runs like shit has never been this bad in performance in the engine loss of any power to stay running
theres a loud ticking sound coming from the engine and poor performance

a plugged cat with throw a sensor for the check engine light because your first 02 sensor will go out (behind the manifold) so night no clogged cat, besides a clogged cat would just leak to loud horrible performance not stalling or start failure, Good luck
