What will cause one cylinder to fill up with gas? I just replaced head gaskets and soaked all the fuel injectors in diesel fuel to remove carbon. It started just fine the first time after assembling back together, I let it run for about a minuite then shut it off. But the second time I went to start it, when I turned the key on, I could hear the fuel pump running for an unusually long amount of time, about 25 seconds. When I cranked it the second time it just went clunk, and did not turn over due to gas in the cylinder, It only floods the #5 cylinder and not any others. When I pulled all the plugs and turn the engine over with a socket it pours about a cup, maybe more, of gas out of #5 cylinder only. I know diesel fuel is not the best thing to soak injectors in, but I did spray everything down with injector cleaner and blast it with compressed air before reassembly. Can anybody help me with this problem? It sounds to me like the injector to that cylinder is sticking open and the pump is running trying to build up pressure, but cannot due to an open injector. Any info or advice on what to do next would be appreciated, thanks.

well sounds like you already know what you have to do. But make a test before you pull the injectors out.
Make sure your # 5 injector ground is not grounded all the time.I will say i never had muck luck oms testing these injectors to see if there bad. But you should try and see if # 5 is differt than the rest. Also when you pull the injectors out again you can hook it back up to the fuel lines with out the upper intake on. Leave the injectors out of the intake so you can see whats going on with the fuel. turn the key on (do not crank) and watch the injectors for leaks.
It is very comon for these to go bad.

If you need to replace them replace reg and injectors. FYI napa has a good price on them and i never had a problem with there spiders (injectors)

Sounds like it could also be your PFR is leaking, crose your fingers that hope it's that and if it is your injectors. There is a upgrade to converter your CSFI in to a MPFI system which is more reliable then the system in there now.
