I replaced the lower manifild gasket, but had to remove the distributor. When I put the distributor back into its place it would not go in as I'd marked it. It went in about 10 degrees off. So, the engine won't start now.

I've read that the timing is controlled by the computer in the car, but shouldn't I do an initial setting? If so, how do I do this. What I've heard is put the #1 cylinder at TDC, (#1 being the drivers side piston closest to the front of the auto). Ok, so then what?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
