It's a 4.3 L V6 SLE. My father and I just finished replacing the EGR valve but it doesnt seem to have helped. The acceleration was still very weak and the rpm's will randomly bounce at 30-40 mph when I am trying to get to 55 mph. Our neighbor's computer gave us a P0404 OBD code, which means (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cicuit Range/Performance.) I just dropped 150$ on a new valve and the problem is still there. Any ideas? I'm not very good with cars but I really can't afford to bring it to the shop. Thank you. -Dan

DTC P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance. Inspect the wire leads to the EGR and the fuses in the fuse box. Also try cleaning the Throttle body with throttle body cleaner and resting the ECM. You can reset the ECM but turning the ignition keys to the on position "engine not running" and pull the fuse in the fuse box labeled ECM. Remover it for 10 second and place back in, you should hear the fuel pump energize and start the engine. The engine my stall, but let it. Just start it again and let idle for 1 min and then go for a test drive. This will reset the ECM to the default and test driving it will recalibrate all the sensors on the engine and will erase any old DTC codes. Good luck and keep me posted.
