I have a '99 suburban, recently while stopped at a traffic light it wouldn't move again - forward or reverse. When in D or R, it feels like something is binding, my guess is that it is in the transfer case.

Also the it will not move when in neutral, had to remove rear drive shaft to be able to move it around with out dragging rear wheels.

Is this the transfer case or the transmission? I would think if its a transmission problem you would still be able to roll it around in neutral.

Thanks

Sounds like its your transfer case that has the issue and will need to be replaced. From what you described, it sounds like your transfer case has seized up from lack of lubrication or worn parts.

Good luck and keep us posted.
