I have searched for days looking to find others with this problem with no success.
2000 Yukon Denali with the DRL and Auto Headlights. During the daylight the dash indicator says the DRL is on. But there are no lights on whatsoever. I can manually turn the headlights on/off and switch between high and low, no problem.

When it gets dark (automatic headlights should come on), the DRL indicator still lights up on the dash, the dash lights up and all lights come on EXCEPT the HEADLIGHTS. I CANNOT manually control the headlights at this time.

I have tried locating the sensor based on locations other people have said but am unable to locate it. I wanted to tape it during the day or shine flashlight on it at night to test it

I have tried pressing, holding, tapping the dome light override button 4x 2x 6x 8x. Checked all fuses everywhere.

I can not get the headlights to turn on at all after dark.

If after dark, I press the E-brake then turn the ignition switch on it overrides the DRL and I can manually turn the headlights on. Release the E-Brake off and the DRL comes on...lights go off!

NOTE: Neither the fog lights nor the license plate lights are working but that didn't really seam to be as important as the headlights, but worth noting.

In summary: DRL indicates it is on during the day but is not. Automatic lights do not come on at night but instead DRL comes on and prevents manual control of the headlights. E-Brake override of the DRL works as expected.

Any suggestions where to go next? And can anyone tell me, show me, the exact location of the auto headlight sensor on a 2000 Yukon Denali?

Thanks in advance
