Hey yall I just scored a 2000 sonoma with 46k KM on it. (Not a rebuilt engine) it's in perfect shape, feels smoother and quieter than my mom's 2011 ford escape with 51k on it.

So my question is. With low km on it, what preventative stuff should I do? I love this truck and wanna keep it for as long as I can.

Is there any known issues with the 2000 4.3 sls sonomas? Thanks for any help. Sorry if shit posting.

I would just keep up on regular maintenance my 2000 sonoma sls zr2 currently has 322,000km and is still running strong

Keep an eye on coolant level in reservoir, check dipstick for increase in level or grey sludge or rust on dipstick, watch for drips under vehicle. The intake manifold gaskets are known to fail and cause problems. Worst is for the coolant to leak into the crankcase and damage bearings.

I daily abuse a 1995 GMC Sonoma and its got 325,000 km and runs like a champ.

On the other hand, I have replaced the following:

Water pump
Pitman Arm
Idler Arm
Center Link
Tie Rods
Alternator
Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
Spark plugs
Drive Shaft
Tensioner wheel
Serpentine belt
Coil for Distributor
Coil-to-Distributor cap wire
PCV Valve
assorted wiring (lights, ect.)
vacuum line connection joints
almost every bulb.
Power Steering Lines

I also Installed a Cold Air Intake and a Cherry Bomb Muffler.
