I just recently replaced the transfer case shift motor in my truck, and everything was working fine for 2 or 3 days. Then when I was driving I had noticed the indicator light on my push button control had gone out. Well when I turned my truck on again, the Service 4x4 light was on. Anyone know what the possible issue could be? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
It could be a lost of communication between your switch to the TCCM or TCCM to your encoder motor on the transfer case. Recheck your wire connections to ensure that there are no bad connections or damaged wire leads.
If you trust your self to DIY servicing to save you time and money, here is a link to trouble shot your 4X4 issues, just remember to use the OBDII method to retrieve your DTC codes.
Good luck and keep us posted.

The tccm will set a code, which turns on the SVC 4WD light, 9 out of 10 with the symptoms you mentioned it is a switch. The only way to start the diag process is to know what code is set, then go from there. You'll need a Tech 2 to read TCCM codes that are more refined then the ones mentioned to the link above.
Here is the replacement proceedure for the TCCM,but you should have it scanned first .You should be able to do this with no problem.
Transfer Case Shift Control Module Replacement:
Remove the IP trim bezel. Pull out the lamp switch, 4WD shift buttons, cargo lamp and air deflector louver assembly in order to disconnect the electrical connectors.
Disconnect all the electrical connectors from the lamp switch, cargo lamp and 4WD shift buttons assembly.
Remove the lamp switch, 4WD shift buttons, cargo lamp and air deflector louver assembly from the vehicle.
Remove the electrical harness retainer from the IP support beam.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the transfer case shift control module.
Move the electrical harness to the left side in order to make room to turn the transfer case shift control module.
Rotate the transfer case shift control module about 45 degrees counter clockwise while pulling out at the same time until the module is approximately 90 degrees from the original position.
Pull out the module from the vehicle.
Installation procedure
Move the electrical harness to the left side in order to make room to install the transfer case shift control module.
Install the transfer case shift control module so that the electrical connector ports are to the right or pointing towards the instrument cluster.
While installing the transfer case shift control module rotate clockwise until the module is in place and the electrical connector ports are facing outwards.
Install the electrical harness retainer to the IP support beam.
Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the transfer case shift control module.
Install the lamp switch, 4WD shift buttons, cargo lamp and air deflector louver assembly the vehicle.
Connect all the electrical connectors to the lamp switch, cargo lamp and 4WD shift buttons assembly.
Install the lamp switch, 4WD shift buttons, cargo lamp and air deflector louver assembly in place.
Install the IP trim bezel. Start the engine and test the automatic transfer case system for proper shift operation.
Good luck and hope it's a simple harness that has gone loose or just a faulty switch. If you suspect a faulty switch, you can take it apart and re-solder the broken solder in the switch it self which is the culprit to the switch failure.
