2000 Sonoma check engine light

The light came on and stayed on a couple of days and then went out. Are there too many things to mention that would bring it in? It ran fine with the light on.

It my still be in the DTC history and have reset it self since there is no issue. It could be a simple gas cap that is now no tight again, or a transmission issue that it may have been slipping from a stuck EPC valve which cause your transmission line pressure to drop slightly.

Regardless the issue has been addressedm but it would be wise to see what the code was just to know if your Sonoma will need the transmission serviced, before it may need to be replaced due to a failing $50.00 Boost valve or dirty transmission fluid.

Post back any DTC codes you may have and Auto Zone scan for dtc codes free of charge.

check engine light

I have a 91 Sonoma SL and my check engine light seems to come on in stop and go traffic (could be a coincidence but doesnt seem to happen when I can drive freely) it stays on for about 20 seconds and then goes out. Last night it happened 4 different times. What could be some issues that is causing this? Im not sure if something needs fixing or if its a loose wire.
