2001 5.7 savana lifter ticking noise maybe????

Some say it's a sticky lifter in the front of the engine, one mecahanic said it sounded like it was coming from the timing chain area. When engine is cold it does'nt tick and it only ticks at idle at operating temperatures.Any ideas?????

If its cold and ticking then might be a lifter. At operating temp might just be a small exhaust leak somewhere where the manifold meets the head.
