I have a 2001 Gmc Jimmy with the Vortec V6, its a 2 door 4x4. alright so my check engine light is on so i used my scanner to read the codes and there are 2 codes. The first code is P0758 and it says "shift solendoid B circuit electrical". The second code is P0740 which says "TCC circuit malfunction". I was wondering what these were and what i had to do to fix the problem, I need an inspection sticker soon and would like to get this cleared up as soon as i can. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

There transmission related codes. You might be lucky and it's just a bad wire harness connection on the transmission passenger side. They can happen due to corrosion being out and exposed to the outside.

The bad is it's going to be a bad shift B solenoid and a TCC solenoid. They can be both checked with a tech 2 scanner at most transmission shops, so call around. There are a few out there to be more then happy to test drive and hook up the scanner for free to get your business and have them replace your boost valve also to buy you more life to your transmission. :D

Good luck and keep us posted.
