My 2001,4.3L,2WD, Jimmy stalled at red light. It would crank over but not start. I poured a little gas into the throttle body and it will run until gas is used up. I have 21 LBS of pressure at the test port on fuel rail. My question is; Is there anything electrical that would keep the pump from pushing enough fuel other than a plugged fuel filter? I have not had a problem until now. But I have only had the truck for a year. My security light comes on when the key is in the switch, blinks a couple of times but goes out so I assuming my Passlock system is not keeping the fuel pump from pumping. I know from reading about this GMC problem with the security system that their is several things that will not let the truck run if the security system has been activated. I know you must wait 10 mins to restart. I don't think that is the problem. Can a fuel pump just go out all at one time? I'm thinking it would have been showing signs of failing for some time before it failed. But I'm not sure. Whart do you guys think?
