2001 Jimmy power seat switch compatability question

I need to replace my power seat switch. Can I replace it with a switch that has the 'Memory Set' buttons, if the original switch did not.

I have read conflicting info regarding software/hardware incompatibility.

Just to clarify, I don't care about mem set functionality, I just want seat adj to work.
