2001 Jimmy Turn Signal Beam Switch

My high/low beams quit coming on when engine started. I traced it to the turn signal switch which also has the cruise and high/low beam control. That was after checking all fuses and the fact that my turn signals, brake lights and fog lights were all working properly. I can get the lights to come on 40% of the time by pulling on the high/low bean several times and at times holding it back with a firm pull.

Is this something ( switch) that can be done at home and has anyone ever done it?

Sounds like your turn signal switch is faulty. Check the hazard lights switch, sometimes applying pressure to it will make the other lights work but you will most likely have to replace the turn signal switch.
