Hello everyone I'm new to the site and am trying to get an idea on what went wrong with my 2500HD 4X4 truck. Here's the story....Started truck and jump in and took off for home...temperature is about 12 degrees...rolling down the freeway late at night ...about 60 mph and noticed the rpm's jumping up 1/2 a notch from 2.5 to 3 and then down to 2.5 again and again like the rear wheels were spinning free...I was in a contruction zone when it started and couldn't pull over... cause there was no place too pull over....if I break down I will block traffic for miles....so I continued driving....started to get worse...noticed trans temp gauge was reading under 100....pushed the toe/haul button on...things seem to settle down....after a while turned it off...to much rpms...started slipping again and started slowing down...had to keep going or else...now reading 4.5 rpm and going about 50 mph....then a big jerk...kept going and made it to an exit ramp and I stopped... then tried to go ...nothing no forward no reverse no any movement in any gear....trans temp now reads 200+....called AAA for a tow. can any one tell me what just happened to my tranny? thanks
