I am having an issue with my cassette player just stopping and spitting the tape out for absolutely no reason. I am using the cassette adapter for my ipod, and this is becoming quite annoying. It will spit the tape out and then read that there is a tape in the deck when there actually isn't. I have tried cleaning it and other such methods but to no avail. I am contemplating swapping it out for an aftermarket head unit, but I have been reading about an anti-theft measure with the radio. Hence my questions are:
Can anybody tell me what is wrong with the stock head unit, the cassette deck in particular?
If there is no way to fix it, can I install a new aftermarket head unit without screwing anything up?
