2002 Envoy rear hatch

Rear hatch wont unlock. Can hear solenoid function when unlock button is pushed but still wont open. any ideas????

Im having this same issue, I can hear it trying to unlock and nothing is happening. I've been reading around and ive popped off that little plug to try to get access to the lock to pry it open but cannot find it and also I have tried looking at the fuses but there is nothing wrong. Is there a way to manually open the rear gate because I dont want to do something wrong so that it opens once and then wont close or will never open again. Please help!!

I have talked to the local Chevy garage and they say that the inside panel has to come off with out destroying it to determine what part of the lock failed. Have not had time to attempt yet but will post when I do.

most likely the electronic switch is worn out . U most likely need to remove the rear inner door panel from inside some how.
