Have a 2003 4.8L V8 1500 4x4 Sierra and in cold weather if I put the tilt steering up, the truck shut's off. I put it back down and it starts back up, or atleast it did. Also if I had the cruze on and signaled left it would kick the cruze out. If I'm signaling and hit the brakes the signals will stop blinking and stay illuminated on the cluster, not every time but most of the time. Most recently I parked the truck, shut it off, put the tilt up like I always do and when I came back out, NOTHING!. All th gauges come on and read fine, signals work, radio works, just won't start. No "click" no slow roll of the engine, nothing. Also my "tow haul" shifter button wasn't working but tore the dash and colume apart today and found one of the small wires were broke. Put it together thinking it would solve all problems and I was wrong. "tow haul" icon comes on the cluster now but still won't start. At one time the truck had a electric car starter in it and has been removed. Also the speedo sometimes reads correct, sometimes reads 160 all the time sometimes reads 40 over actuel speed. Saw the post about the $15.00 motors in the dash and have order one.
Any direction is more than welcome and would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the Gm comon problem Ignition Switch. usually This will .... Hit the botton of the sterring colum under the sterring wheel. If it starts put a switch in it. Electric part not the key part.

You wrote" Hit the botton of the sterring colum under the sterring wheel. " Did you mean "Hit the bottom or hit the " button" ?
