I have a 2003 sonoma and it won't start or even crank. Security light comes on, does not flash and goes off. Checked everything we could find online, nothing helped.
I now start the truck by turning the switch all the way on to the start position and then use a push button start under the hood.
Please can anyone help me? Desperate for help.

If you can figure out how to wire in a start switch under the hood, you should be able to figure this problem out. Most likely the ignition switch which is mounted tot he top of the steering column under the dash. It is operated by a long rod from the lock assembly. If its not that, it has to be a wire or a connection in the circuit somewhere. A little basic diagnosis will tell you which one.

Have had the steering column out and there is no rod that we can see. Ignition is a tumble switch. We've done a lot of testing checked wires for corrosion and breakage. Still won't turn over just turning the key. Even tried what another person in the forums suggested by cleaning the switch. Didn't work.
Thanks so much for the suggestion.
