Hi everyone!
I have a 2005 Envoy SLT with a bad rear air suspension system. It has be failing on and off for the past 2-3 winters (from Chicago). It seem like it finally had enough. I bought a dresser about two weeks ago and loaded it up in the back. Well, when I went out the next morning to go to work, the back end was riding low. I liked the look but the ride and handling were terrible.
Anyways, I have taken it to my GMC Dealer where I bought it from to have it looked at. I have a good friend of mine that is a Service writer there and is very honest about what repairs I need done. So after the vehicle was looked at by the GMC Mechanic, the diagnosis is what I knew and expected....a bad air bag. The compressor still works but it cannot keep up with the air loss of the bags. I know that replacing the air system with another air system is VERY COSTLY (just the air bags)!! Not replacing the air compressor will only lead to a future failure of said compressor. My friend, the Service writer recommended that I replace my air bags with a coil & shock conversion kit from Strut-Masters.
My question is:
Does any one know of, or have heard of any other options from any other Manufacturers/Companys?
