2006 GMC Sierra Evap system Help

Hello everyone,

I have read through seveal post regarding the evap vent solenoid, but I have not seen anything about where to get this particular part. Also, I read that there was a direct match with a 2000/2002 suburban and there is no modifications. Apparently the new replacement solenoid is bigger and has a slight modification you must do when replacing your old one. Can anyone tell me a little more about this? I really need to get this problem fixed and don't want to spend an arm & leg doing it. There is supposedly a GMC OEM parts store online that has replacement parts over half price than what the dealer sells them. Anything would be great.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU MUST READ*****

Ok everyone, listen up....If you have a 04 and newer Sierra with a failed evap vent solenoid, you have to read this info. Do not pay $100+ for this part(actually $150.00 at the dealer).

The following part numbers associated with this part have been gm#19207763,19152349, and AC DELCO #'s 214-2082 costing over $100.00 for the modified part. This is for the modified part, with the relocation of the filter box, and the added hose that separates the two. No one at Gm will tell you this, but this same part, that was originally on your Sierra, is also used in the 2006 Suburban.

It will be an identical replacement for what is ON YOUR TRUCK, and the cost is $24.04 AT THE DEALE. Ask a parts person at GM, and they will tell you otherwise, but they are lying to you. The suburban part part # 25932571 (GM #) and everything is identical, right down to the numbers stamped on the part itself.

Replace the Solenoid with the part # 25932571 which is listed for the Suburban, clear your codes and no more check engine light after 3 consecutive starts.

Good luck and try not to over fill your gas tank which is one of the causes for the vent solenoid to go bad.

OUTSTANDING MOLSON, this is exactly what I was searching for. Apparently my search wasn't good enough, so thanks for taking up my slack. This is great news. At least now I defiantely know I wasn't having a senior moment at that particular time. LOL! Take care.
