2008 gmc sierra hard start

2008 GMC Sierra 5.3 spins over and sputters a lot before I can get it to crank. Flex fuel truck. I can hear the fuel pump cycle in the key acc position but sometimes takes along time to start any suggestions?

On my 02 GMC Sierra mine would have issues starting as well. It would turn over and over and act like it was going to, but, a lot of the time not start. One day I turned the key and let it sit till the dinging stopped and then turned it and it starts every time.

i have a 99 sierra 1500 that wont start on the first sometimes second shot it has an EGR code I replaced the Fuel pressure regulator and have the EGR valve but I have seen that in a lot of cases its the fuel pump any suggestions?
