Hi, I have a 2008 GMC Sierria 2 wheel basic work truck with crank down windows, air, tow package, power locks and radio/CD-XM SERIUS RADIO. this is the recurring problem that occurs with no pattern. It happens I while on a city street, or highway, in all temperatures and weather conditions. The time frame is about one second......and the trigger is the break pedal or turn signal or nothing that I do.
The door locks go up and down 2 or 3 times, the MPH Guage drops down to zero, the air bag warning light blinks about 5 times and the radio resets to 2004 January 1, midnight. Before all this happens SOMETIMES there is a high pitched whine that comes through the speakers similar to AM radio. If I apply the break or turn signal there is a "crack" very faint in the speakers. I have taken this to two dealers one replaced the cruse control and a maxi bus bar fuse. That did not cure it, then a body control module. No fix. Went to a second dealer ship (Chevrolet, felt more confident) we took a shot and changed out the fuse panel located on the drivers side on top of the panel and they have only made it do it once while driving. I got it back four weeks ago, we had our fingers crossed and the tranny did not want to shift running down the on ramp. There are never any codes that come up to be recorded, and a remote recorder was installed and it got nothing.
I bought this truck from a friend who bought it new, he is a retired GM tech. It has 130,000 miles and has been doing this since the 50k mark customer service has no idea either. Help! I'm at the point of trading it in and leaving the product line.
