we have a 2009 Acadia SLT that we bought used. it's been fine except on a few road trips in which i have used cruise control. The warning light flashes the following: "Engine Hot Idle Engine" then all the other warnings come on as follows: "Traction Control Off" "Parking Assist Off"
Then i can't get any speed it's like the whole car just shuts down.
i have to pull off the road and let the engine idle for at least 5 minutes and it smells like smoke but i open the hood and can't see anything
after about 5 minutes i can drive and the check engine warning light stays on. then once i park the car overnight the next day it is fine and no warning lights are on. we've taken it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything but reset all the sensors, but now 3 months later it did it again.
does anyone else have this problem and have they figured it out?
