the rust is between the paint and the metal surface, there are no holes just ugly looking rust patches, there are no cracks or chips out of the paint, it just rusts under the paint until a big piece of paint falls off, kind of takes you back to the Torino in the 70's

well, I was hoping to get a couple more years out of this truck which now has 140,000 km on it, now I see rust coming through on both rear wheel wells and on 1 front wheel well, also the inside edge of the drivers door breaking out, I guess it is time for the duct tape body job, I now believe it would be a waste of time and money going to a body shop, the red and grey duct tape should be a nice trim on a dark blue truck
I just got my 2009 Sierra back from the body shop, I had the inside of the rear wheel wells painted and a fair size rust spot behind the drivers side rear wheel repaired then tonight as I was admiring the nice job I noticed a brown patch on the bottom of the passenger door, it is about 6 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches high at the bottom edge of the door, the paint just fell off of it, I looked the truck over when I picked it up and did not see this so the paint was just hanging over it, I have had GM vehicles all my life but I never thought I would see a 6 year old vehicle rust like this, it only has 130K on it, GM I am very, very disappointed in you and I just bought another Buick. anyone else having paint problems

After owning several GM vehicles I made the plunge, I dumped my 2012 Buick Verano and got a Honda Accord Sport, If my 2009 Z71 was worth anything I would have dumped it as well. I will run it for as long as I can, it only has 150,000 km, as for the rust I will get a can of bright orange Tremclad rust paint and cover it that way, It will look like hell but I will smile when people ask me why.
thats the same attitude I got and thats why, after endless years buying GM I am now looking at my first Honda or Hyundai
well I made the move as well and no regrets, I dumped the Buick Verano and got a Honda Accord sport, the Accord is much nicer car, should have done it sooner, I guess I am stuck with the truck, take tooo big a loss so will run it into the ground which I suspect is not far off.
