It would not hurt to ask for a rebuilt engine installed from all the list of things that has gone bad on yours. From what you have described it sounds like your knock sensors have gone bad and shorting out causing the timing to be off when you first start the engine.

It was common for the knock sensors to corrode in the intake valley. Water would collect in the valley and drain into the knock sensors cause them to short out. The cam and lifters were also an issue from low oil pressure from a faulty oil pressure relive valve.

Keep us posted and hope you get your engine running 110% again soon.

well after being at the dealer for 10 days they found nothing wrong with it they didint even look at it all they did was go out and start it every morning and afternnon and said it wont do it for them. i went and picked it up it not making the noise any more so not sure there but i had anthor issues that they were suposed to look at there was a griniding noise coming from the starter area when i would start it so i asked them about it they advised me they looked at it and it was the starter making noise so they checked with my extended warranty they told them no it was gms repsonsibilty under the power train warranty well my dealer buckalew chevrolet in coroe is telling me that it has not failed so they can not reaplace it under warranty wats the point of the warranty if i have to repalce it out of my own pocket there is ovisouly a problem and they told me it was the starter but they wont repalce any help on what to do now
