I have a 2011 Sierra Crew S/box. Great truck, only 19,000k on the clock, BUT .... Coming home from work on night, as the road angled to the right a bit, and I followed it, when the road straightened out, I didn't! The steering wheel was locked and I had to force it back. At that point everything seemed normal till the road moved left a bit and the same thing happened that direction too. Continued home and things seemed normal. Wondered if it was just a "glitch", and carried on for a couple of days and all seemed fine. Then as I was backing into my driveway, (an S turn from the street and into the carport) It happened 3 times. Took it to my dealer who at first (as always) has no problem with it. On his second try, he finds the problem and they had to replace the rack and pinion and steering gear. Seemed Ok the first few days, but then something just didn't seem right. Steering was darn stiff at slow speeds and seemed to wander at higher. Thought it was the variable pressure on the power steering, so I took it in again. They claim the pump is OK. With further inspection, they wound up replacing the boot that holds the intermediate shaft. So far, steering seems fine, but I can't help wonder what's coming next. Anyone else in this boat?
