Just picked up my new 2014 Sierra 1500 2WD SLT over the weekend and have to say I am very pleased with all the changes. After owning a 2007 Tahoe LTZ 2WD and more recently a 2010 Sierra 1500 2WD Denali (both black on black) , I was looking forward to a new interior ( the 07' Tahoe LTZ and 10' Sierra Denali were practically identical). Every thing on this truck is different and has been updated. The biggest surprise is the new 5.7l V-8 which I though would feel underpowered vs. the 6.2l in the Denali. Not the case at all. This engine is silky smooth and the ride is vastly improved (IMHO). There is virtually no wind noise, and the cabin is well insulated and quite.
The only bad news is that with a sticker price of $45,500, and no discounts, be prepared to pay top dollar to be one of the first kids on the block with this new truck. At least I get to enjoy it here in sunny south Florida.
