2015 Canyon Body Paint and Chrome Issues

Let me preface this by saying, up until yesterday, I really like my Canyon. Features, Gas Mileage, Ride....etc the list of good things is long however, I was extremely happy to read (no offense to guys having issues too) and then realize that I don't have issues. Until I meticulously washed and waxed my truck yesterday. I have a little under 4000 miles on it and I found deep pits, to the bare metal, in the body paint which blew me away. I had a Ridgeline with 100,000 miles on it and I had zero 'holes' in the paint like this. Needless to say, I'm a little on the not happy side. Especially since I counted six, between the hood and drivers side. I took pictures but they didn't come out too well.

Then I went to start polishing the chrome rear bumper. That is when I found the pit of rust. (Attached Picture) I sat down, almost feeling like I just lost the Stanley Cup.

Do you guys think the dealer would take care of these things or am I sol? I'm planning on ruffling some feathers today and see what they will do.

Went to the Dealer today. The service manager reviewed the truck and told me that the paint chips are all from rocks. Told me to come back after the rocks are gone from the road and they will touch up the chips. There are 10 total chips so far.
Two spots on the truck look like acid is reacting to the paint and he said its bird poo. They will buff them out.
I have no problem building a case that the paint is not good on it but how in the world will my truck look by June with a ton of touch up spots? There is no way that I won't get more chips on it. Its too soft.
Again, my Ridgeline had close to 100000 miles on it and I had ZERO spots on my paint like these.

At least they will replace the rusty bumper.

Glad to hear your dealer is taking care of it. Sorry to hear abt the rust and paint issue, at least you'll get a new bumper.

I bought paint/interior protection package because of it being a new generation truck.

I am on my third Canyon the last two Denali’s, I have a “clear bra” put on the truck first thing and have never had a chip or other paint problem, NE Washington State , specifically Spokane Co. is better than 45% gravel roads. The protection has an initial expense but I feel the clear bra clearly has saved me $ in repairs.

I have a 2017 All Terrain, white in color, that has small yellow spots all over the tailgate and some smaller areas along the sides. This appears to be rust coming thru the paint. The truck only has 13375 miles on it and has always been garaged. This is Ohio so no salt water influence. I haven't been to dealer yet as they can be a pain to deal with. Has anyone here had this same problem and what can I expect GM to do about it? I feel the whole truck should be repainted.

I doubt the dealer will do anything for you. I have a 2012 Sierra that has the same thing, from what I have found this issue is referred to as "rail dust". If you clay and wax the vehicle the spots will go away for about a year. Last time I tried Iron and Fallout Remover spray from Griots Garage and that seems to work better. I haven't noticed the same spots anymore. This is definitely a more common problem with white GM vehicles.
