For general information: Apparently when in ice and snow some of the owners of 2015 vehicles are experiencing freezing of the automatic grill shutter resulting in a "check engine" light. GM has apparently developed a new assy with a stronger motor as a cure. We have had a unusually mild winter and I did not receive my truck until last week so I cannot report from experience.

That's an interesting piece of information abt 2015 vehicles. I guess it's only a matter of time until someone can confirm this.

does anyone know if gmc has a fix forthis? I had the same issues last year. the dealer has no info on this they tell me.

I never buy 1st-year rollouts for this reason but I guess somebody has to. Just bought a 16.

shutter fix

I have an appointment next week for this as my dealer told it was some kind of jumper. I will update on the fix after its done and hopefully works.

Wwll it has been two years since i posted about the grill shutters and this has been anything but a mild winter however i have not had a bit of trouble from the shutters and have heard no other complaints this winter. My Canyon has turned out to be one of the easiest driving, least fatigue ing vehicles I have owned.
