This is my first post...
One month ago I bought a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE with the Z-71 package. The truck had 30 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. It now has 1200 miles. The "Stabillitrak Needs Service" prompt has appeared on the DIC three times. The first time was about a week ago when I was towing my boat (for the first time) in the early morning. The second time was after I pulled out into traffic and romped on the gas to get the truck up to speed. The third time was while I was driving on the interstate around 65mph. The prompt appears and the light stays on until I turn the truck off and goes off after I turn the truck back on and drive it a few miles. I called the dealer and he said that I shouldn't worry about it as this may be caused by tire slippage. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any insight into whether the dealer is correct or not?
Thanks!

My first thought is there is something wrong. Get it fixed.

The Traction and Stabilitrak indicator will go off during tire slippage, it'll go out immediately after. That is NOT the "Stabilitrak needs service "light.

If you have tire slippage at 65mph, there is another issue with your driving, which I seriously doubt.

Read and understand your owners manual on this under Traction Control/Electronic Stability Control. Then call your dealer and tell them there is an issue and the vehicle is not acting as it should according to the owners manual.

There is a recall that applies to this problem. It is a software issue and it is a conflict of actual 2wd/4wd switch posistion and what the computer thinks it is in. More prevelant when temps are cold. Recall is on an as needed basis and they aren't mailing out letters. Hope this info helps
