2016 Savana I want a key fob and prob rs

Hi All,

Just picked up a 2016 GMC Savana 2500 Cargo.


It has power locks but no remote for keyless entry.


I was going to install a DBALL2 & AVital 4103 to get remote keyless entry and remote start.

However someone told me that I could just buy fobs and have them activated from GM.


Is this true?


Any input?

I do prefer OEM if it is an option

Maybe this will help, I went to GMC dealership parts department for 2012 GMC Savana 2500 and got a printout of the RPO codes that came with the VIN, and there was BTV - Control Remote Engine Start. He gave me a part number 20970808 for the key fob and they run $130 each, but on 2012 and up they have to be programmed by dealer or locksmith with the coder, there is no manual learn anymore.
