I am close to considering getting a 2016 Yukon Denali XL.
I did a lot of research and listed the issues that I found other owners "of 2016" Yukon Denali XL's had and presented them to a dealer. The dealer took my list and a few days later came back and stated he had checked with GMC to learn that each of the listed issues had been by one means or another, resolved for the remainder 2016 vehciles. The salesman drove one to my house for me to review and drive. The drive went very well short of that I thought was more road noise than I would have expected from a higher line such as Denali. The seats were stiff and not as comfortable as the seats in a Lincoln SUV that I road tested at about the same price range. BUT when I opened the hood and found a wire harness fastener missing? That concerned me and I had to start wondering again what else maybe got shorted in manufacturing or by production. So here I am. Still willing to consider buying the vehicle but want to hear from other owners of the "2016" Yukon Denali XL and what your experience has been with your vehicle now that you own one, please. Thank you.

ALSO thought that I might add this. While inspecting the XL the dealer brought to me I crawled under it and found a wire harness loop hanging in the open just inside the frame and located about just under the drivers seat under the vehicle. I mentioned my concern that this could be snagged by brush and cause damage and was told they are all like that. I asked if the made a "plate" similar to a off-road protection plate to protect things like this and was told that they had a factory bolt on. Something that you owners may want to look at and protect your asset by getting that plate mounted as a loss prevention measure.

I rented on of these for a week and highly recommend doing this before purchasing this or any vehicle. I'm not saying they are good or bad, I'm just saying an extended test drive without a salesman lets you know if they are for you or not. You will notice things you never noticed on the test drive. I also posted a thread about this here and on the suburban forum

I purchased the vehicle in question in October 2015 and have about 3500 miles on it so far. I'm am pleased overall, but there are a few things that I'll have addressed at first service. They're not an emergency to take in now:

The heated seats do not turn on when the car is remotely started in the cold. The heater and rear defrost do, but the seats don't and I have tried numerous times turning off and on the setting for this to no avail.

Twice now, the entertainment/nav system has 'locked' up mid-drive. The first time it re-booted fine when I quickly turned on and off the vehicle. The second time it did not work quickly and letting sit over night reset it fine the following morning.

The transmission up and down shifts can be a tad clunky sometimes, but not overly noticeable. I have pretty much every option on it, apart from the auto-retracting running boards. Happy to provide any further guidance and insight.

Hello friends,
I am in the process of purchasing a Yukon Denali 2016 for my wife this year. Does anyone know where to get a really good deal? I don't mind driving out of state. She currently has a 2007 Yukon Denali but it has a lot of miles on it. Any advice would be appreciated!

Costco

I used the beginning of the year Costco purchase price program - I got suppliers' price and it was very easy and well documented. Only a few dealers are Costco networked and no other GMC dealers were willing to come within $500 of the price I was getting offered from my local Costco-approved dealer.

Just bought a 2016 Yukon, my second Yukon. I have also had an Expedition, several Explorers, a Navigator and MKT. Love the Yukon, hate its 3rd row seating, which unlike previous models cannot just be popped out.

The Yukon is a better tow vehicle than other SUVs we have had for a bigger boat. The issue with the new Yukon I have is the 3rd row seats. In the Lincoln the 3rd row folds pretty flat. With the Yukon I anticipated the loss of some cargo volume from putting the 3rd row seat flat, but what I did not realize is that they do not lay or any where close to flat. A cargo net across the tailgate opening is a must or anything that can roll or move will fall out when you open the door. It is at such an angle that I am reluctant to have my two old and large dogs ride back there as they will slide against the tailgate and I think it will be very uncomfortable. I am going to either find some shop that will remove the 3rd seating or I will do it myself and if I need to create another flat floor over that space.

Love the vehicle, hate the 3rd row seating. That GMC could not create something approximating a flat cargo space with folding seats is a major disappointment.

Heated seats can not be set to come on when remote starting the vehicle, same as the a/c cooled front seats.

Laura GMC, outside of St Louis, has really good deals. Huge selection. I picked my veh, for my wife; XL Denali. flew to St Louis, dealer picked me up, was in and out of dealer in 45 min. ( should have spent more time there...).
Bought mine for 60,995, yes 4x4... crazy deal.
drove the vehicle home(Nashville).
After one day noticed vibration throughout veh at 35-50mph. rough idling. took it to local dealer; they are working up the vibration. I put in gumout fuel treatment... incase water in fuel tank; that has helped. agree with above post gear shifting is a tad loud; should be silky smooth IMO. I am worried about the vibration; apparently well document in 2015 model, (mine is 16).
I really like everything else about the veh; good power good exhaust sound, seats not as comfy as our 2003 suburban(the best).
On a really high note, dealer in Nashville say I have about 5k in equity, because of what I payed......that's awesome.
Dealer says they cannot do work on the veh til it has 500 miles on it; says that's GMC's policy. well we have 550 on it now and it is going to the dealer this am, and getting a loaner... the said this could take several days to work though...more to follow.

Just purchased a new 2016 Yukon SLT from Chuck Nash Auto Group, San Marcos, TX 1-800-460-6274 Purchased over the phone from Mississippi. Salesman Alex Webster was great & no extra add-on's or funny business. They picked me up from Auston Airport & completed sale in less than 1 hour. All other dealers wanted to add extra fees, not Chuck Nash.
I have been trying to get Cooled Seats to work when I use Remote Start & I'm going to Dealer soon for Help.
