$275 spark plugs

I asked the dealer how much to replace the spark plugs
his quote $275
my truck is 2011 sierra 1500 5.3l 80,000+ miles
the only reason I can think it is so expensive is aluminum heads
do they have a history of the plugs stripping out on the heads ?
it looks like access to the plugs is easy
I am considering doing them myself, anybody have any thoughts, ideas, or recommendations ?

The link worked for me, but i'm sure if you go down to your local auto parts dealer that you can get spark plugs from between 3 to 8 $ a piece. Usually they come in pairs and average at about 7$.
 
Yes, do it yourself. Save a lot of money. And you know it will have been done right too.

took an hour n half
1 1/4 body lift that I have on my truck made the job easier
91,000+ miles on the truck , plugs looked good they all measured .039 gap
According to truck info center been getting 14.1 mpg adjusted for my 285-17 tires 14.9 mpg
Speedometer is off by 6%
The truck has felt down on power , hope the plugs will help

yay I'm finally back
problem solved I put a set of 1 3/4 diameter shorty headers on my truck....
HUGE improvement in throttle response
good thing I went with the 1.75 dia the exhaust ports are 1.7 wide
I ordered them from Walmart $121 made by DNA motor from city of industry Ca.
great welds and fit-up but the header flange is not machined flat
one had a .07 bow and the other a .06 bow and a twist
I took them to work and flycut the flange flat
the gaskets that came with them are good quality
the bolts it came with are good quality but the bolts for the three bolt flange were a little short went and got a longer S/S set
also put a set of spark plug boot high temp sleeves on the wires, that is a must have
I already have my version of a cat back system -flowmaster and it exits in front of the rear tire
also have my version of a cold air intake - I cut a three inch hole in the front of the air box used thin wall alum pipe to go behind the head lights with a plate sealing the area behind the head lights
I made it in a way that it is easy to remove when I have to change head light bulb
