4 WD Problem

I have a 1997 5.7l GMC 4x4 electronic transfer case equipped suburban. I switched it into 4wd hi, but the light just flashes. And i have gone to the owners manual for answers. I have followed it to the "T".... And it still flashes???? What could it be?? it says in the manual that if it flashes that the "shift" didn't complete.... And it does it for both hi and low.... can someone give me so answers to what might be the problem please.....

Here is a post that should help you get your 4wd working again, it's a common issue with the front wheel actuator.
