4 Wheel Drive Inidcator

Hey Guys,

Got a 2002 gmc sierra 1500. Once in a blue moon the service 4 wheel drive indicator comes on for no apparent reason. 4x4 works fine when indicator isnt on, but once in a while, while playing with the 4 wheel drive the lights on my buttons to change from 2 to 4 turn off and i cant tell what gear im in. Was wondering if anybody had any ideas of why this was happening. I believe its because the sensor on the back pumpkin is going bad but im really not to sure.

Best thing to do is have your Sierra scanned for the DTC codes in the history for you to pinpoint what is causing your issue to safe you time and money.

Start with that and post back, we can start with that to safe you time and money and get your 4WD running 100% again soon.

This just happened to our 04 Envoy XUV; my wife started it up this morning to drive to work and the Service 4 Wheel Drive light came on. I did some research and told her to check it after she got off work. When she started it up this afternoon, there was no indicator lit.
