4114 bulbs run too hot

I have a 2005 that uses 4114 bulbs in the daytime running lights. They both burned out within a few days of each other last week. When I removed the bulbs, it was apparent that they have been running extremely hot. The sockets are beginning to melt. Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem?

Try LED replacement bulbs. They dont run hot.
