4x4 almost fixed

hi, i have a 96 jimmy with a 4.3 and push button 4x4. when i got the jimmy, the 4x4 didnt work at all. i replaced every vacuum line for the 4x4. now 4x4 will egage, but wont disengage unless i disconect one of the vacuum line to take the air pressure out of the system. im stumped on why it wont release pressure and shift back into 2wd. could it be the vacuum switch on the transfer case? are those known for going bad? any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks

There common to go bad, i keep an extra one in my glove box, that's how common they go on these Jimmy's and blazer.

You can remove it with a open end wrench and take your time, its a PITA but i can be done.
