I have a high mileage (352k+) 1988 GMC Suburban that I am doing A/C repair on. I would like to know where the orifice tube is located and just what is required to change it out. I've seen and heard conflicting advice from many people. Some was downright wrong and certainly NOT helpful.
This Suburban has been with me since 1994 when I bought it from a maintenance fanatic, retired Air Force pilot. Yeah, one of those who went to get his truck repaired if you pulled up next to him and your truck made the noise. I suppose his fanaticism and my own are responsible for the high mileage engine.
I've looked at other trucks and various cars as replacements, but nothing suits me as much as this GMC.
