Rebuilt 700r4 and replaced torque converter. Put tranny back in to truck and still no gears. So I jacked up the rear axle and proceeded to put the truck in drive and tires started spining pretty good, bad thing is I can stop it with my hand (or is that because of the limited slip) I've been up and down that tranny and cant find a reason why still no movement. I originally thought the t-case was stuck in N maybe but I am able to engage it into 4wd (engine off) i am able to turn front drive shaft and the rear also spins with it. So I dont think its the t-case. But I could be wrong. Ive been up and down that transmission and cannot for the life of me think what the hell is wrong? I did forget to mention that I did have a small leak coming out of what looked like the front of the pan, or maybe torque converter.
I took of pan and inspection cover and unbolted torque converter bolts from flexplate. With the torque converter unbolted from the flex plate should it spin somewhat freely? Cause mine doesnt at all. I might have to back tranny and torque converter off the flexplate maybe. Everything else checks out I that I can think of. Only other thing I didnt mention is the drive selector linkage doesnt feel tight. Could that possible be the parking lever under the pan not reinstalled right or possibly the check ball locations? Man I am stumped and I really need this truck operational, I just lost my house and have no where to go and my truck is my lively hood. Anybody that has any suggestions or coments feel free to throw em out. Thank you so much in advance for your help. I'm definatly in a bad situation right now. Hope to hear some feed back soon guys! Have a good evening....
