89 won't start- sometimes

Sometimes when I go somewhere and then shut off the ign. it won't start again for at least 1/2 hour. every thing else works but as soon as you try to start it all the guages go dead and nothing?????? Most of the time when this happens you just walk away for a while and when you come back PRESTO it fires up just like new. Part of the intrusion alarm? Has new batt. and starter, and did this with the old ones too. Ideas welcome

did you have a aftermarket alarm put in if so see if thw wires are loose if he used but connector 2 check the starter wires . on my truck i need to fix the work the alarm guy did and ifx the starter wire is purpel it was bad
