I am currently the proud owner of two suburbans...a 90 GMC 2000 and an 86 Chev R20. Cannot let go of them as they run great...the chev had a brand new (not rebuilt...new on a pallat) engine put in and the transmission rebuilt before it was given to me (my buddy inherited a ton of $$ and bought a new one) and it has a 411 rear end...it can tow my house !
I am disgusted with the power windows in my GMC, and would like to convert the windows over to crank windows...is this possible and if so, what parts will I need to pick up..the motors from napa last about a year. I would also like to convert the 86 chevy to barn doors as it has a tailgate (with a power window that does not work !!). I have a 25' Seevee fishing boat built in the early 1980's and it weighs about as much as the bismark...so I need to keep the suburbans to tow it...and...these old babies can haul a full sheet of plywood in the back !

Subs are one of the most versatile 'trucks' out there.

As for window motors, stop with Napa and check out www.jegs.com for heavy duty parts. You'll pay a bit more, but they'll last.

I'm not sure about the barn door conversion but with some fab work anything is possible. There are some awesome 5.7 long block crates out there!
