Hello all new here. Well I have a 93 sonoma 2 wheel drive 4.3 liter engine. The problem I am having is battery drain. I took the neg battery cable loose and hooked a test light between the cable and bat terminal. the light comes on pretty bright. so the first thing i did was disconnect the alternator. when I did this the light went out and I thought that the alternator was bad. Then I noticed touching the two wires that came off of the same alt. terminal made the light come back on. Touching the wire coming to the alt from battery does not make light come on. So I would say that means the alt. is not shorting out. (New alt). The one wire is the one that comes from the positive battery terminal. I need to know where the other two wires that are on the same connector that hooks to this terminal go. I checked with meter which I have not used much. I had red wire to meter plugged into 10A DC and black wire to COM. I set meter to 200m and I got reading of 12.34 draw. If this is what I think I have a pretty bad draw. If anyone has any suggestions I would be greatful. Does this sound like I did the meter correctly. Thanks for any help
If you need more info let me know.
